Greetings Class of 2020,

I hope you are all doing well and have been able to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.  We would like to take this opportunity to update you on some items related to our senior students:

Senior Night
We are planning a senior night on May 29, 2020.  This evening will be a time for us to honor our senior class by distributing caps and gowns, lawn signs, and may a few other treats for our students.  As we will still need to be mindful of social distancing, we will honor our seniors with a parade, in cars, around the track.  This event will take place on the football field at Hilbert Middle School.  We are still working on the final details and times but will update you as soon as we finalize our planning.  We look forward to seeing all of you on May 29.  Please stay tuned….

Caps and Gowns
There is still time to order a cap and gown if you have not done so.  Please use the following link to place your order.  If you already ordered your cap and gown, it will be available for pick up on May 29 at our Senior Night.  If you still owe money for your cap and gown, a representative from Herff Jones will be available to assist you.  Your cap and gown must be paid in full before you receive it.

We are still committed to honoring our seniors with a graduation ceremony.  As we have stated in previous emails, we do not know what it will look like or where it will be.  We are continuing to adhere to the Stay at Home order from the governor and will make arrangements as soon as we get the green light from the state and local government.

All senior who were passing his or her class as of March 12, 2020, are on track to earn credit for the course.  If you were not passing a class prior to March 12, 2020, your teacher or counselor to arrange to either improve your grade or enroll in credit recovery should have contacted you.  If you were failing a class and have not been contacted by your teacher or counselor, please reach out to them immediately.  There is still time to obtain credit for the course and graduate on time.

Progress Reports
Progress reports are posted on Student/Parent Connect.  Every two weeks students will receive a progress report.  All students will receive a P (pass) or and E on their report.  The progress report is not a grade for the class.  The progress reports only reflect the two-week period from one report to the next.  If you receive an E on your progress report, which means that your teacher has attempted to reach out to you and you have not responded.  If you see an E on your report please reach, out to your teacher through email or phone.  We just want you to check in.  Again, the progress report does not affect your grade in the class.  All staff contact information can be found on the Learning Hub using this link:

Locker Clean Out
We will provide times for our students to enter the building to clean out their lockers and collect their personal belongings.  As soon as the Stay at Home order is lifted, we will arrange to open the building in a safe and orderly manner.

We hope this email was helpful.  If you have, questions not answered above, please contact Mrs. Nachman, or Mr. Taylor.

Take Care and Stay Safe,

Mrs. Nachman, Principal                                Mr. Taylor, Assistant Principal
